What to Expect

We will begin this experience with an energizing, warm up stretch, drawing our attention to nature and connecting with our breath.

Then we will embark on the guided 2 mile hike, which will be interspersed with several mindful hiking moments, nature meditations, and nature appreciation spots.

The last portion of the experience will be a gentle, relaxing yoga and meditation class amongst the trees.

We invite you to leave your to-do list at home and come prepared to be with us in the moment! This mini-retreat will focus on drawing our attention to nature and connecting with it, savoring the sounds and smells of the woods, and being with our breath as we take in the amazing views around us. Come see what this unique combination of yoga, meditations, and mindful hiking is all about!

Our Mindful Hike Experience

  • A morning/ afternoon mindful hike experience at Mint Springs Valley Park with up to 5 spots available per session. This guided 2 mile hike is interspersed with several mindful exercises and nature meditations and ends with a gentle, relaxing yoga and meditation class. The hike is of moderate difficulty and the entire experience will last approximately 2.5 hours. Cost for Spring hikes is $50 per person.

  • Sessions run from 11 am-1:30 pm Saturdays and Sundays, starting April 6th and running through May 5th.

  • 18 or older

    Beginners welcome…some hiking experience may be helpful, but not necessary!

  • Jess Miles has been in the fitness and wellness industry since 2006. She has various certifications in the field and loves sharing experiences in nature with others. Please see the About page for more information on Jess.

  • The first half of the hike will climb 350 feet up Little Yellow Mountain, and you will encounter rocks and roots on the trail. Please see FAQ or email for more detailed information.

    Please arrive 5-10 minutes prior to the session start time. We also kindly request that you follow all posted Albemarle County Park Rules and Regulations while visiting the Park.
