Hike FAQ

  • How challenging is the hike?

The uphill portion of the hike is of moderate difficulty. We will climb 350 feet over the course of about a mile. A lot of the trail is speckled with rocks and tree roots. Although no hiking experience is necessary, we do recommend that you are able to climb stairs without difficulty. Please click here to take a closer look at the trail!

  • What should I wear?

We recommend dressing in layers, so you can remove them as you warm up on the hike. We also recommend materials that you can stretch freely in. If there is a chance of rain, a rainjacket would be a good idea as well. Hiking boots are not necessary, but you should make sure whatever shoes you choose have good traction. You will be traversing lots of rocks and roots at times and the trail can be muddy after a rain. Fallen leaves in the autumn can also make for slightly slippery conditions. You may also want to consider a hat, suscreen, and bug spray depending on the time of year. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions!

  • What is provided?

We will provide extra thick yoga mats, which make it super comfy to be on the ground! We also provide yoga blocks and blankets and we have a little gift for you to take away at the end!

  • What should I bring?

We recommend bringing a water bottle (or two!), and a hat, sunscreen, and bug spray if you want those items. You don’t need a backpack, but if you would like to bring a small one to carry items with you, you may. Depending on chance of rain, it may be prudent to bring a rainjacket as well. We will have extra water on hand if you need it!

  • Will we go out if it's raining?

We will still go out with a little rain, however, sessions will be canceled due to inclement weather, including, but not limited to: thunder, lightning, heavy precipitation, extreme temperatures/heat index, or heavy wind. If a session is canceled due to inclement weather, a refund or credit will be given equivalent to the amount of class missed. For more details, please see our cancellation policy.

  • How many people need to sign up for the hike to happen?

Just one! Even if you are the only one signed up, we will still go out. You will have your own, private experience in that case! We cap the maximum number of spots at 6 because we think these smaller groups provide for a more intimate and fulfilling experience.

  • How does the timing break down for the hike experience?

The amount of time hiking is about an hour, which includes several mindful hiking moments. The other hour and a half is composed of the warm up stretch, guided meditations during the hike, and the ending gentle yoga and meditation class.

  • What are "nature meditations" and "mindful hiking moments"?

Our nature meditations are meditations performed in nature that often include some component of connecting with or drawing our attention to nature. As far as the mindful hiking moments, you will have to come out and experience that for yourself to see what that’s all about!
