Paddleboard FAQ

  • I have never been on a paddleboard before! Is this ok?

Absolutely! Elemental Experiences not only welcomes, but ENCOURAGES complete newbies to join us! Jess really loves introducing new people to the board and helping them feel comfortable. Many people that start out unsure are surprised at how much they love this experience!

  • What should I wear?

This is completely up to you, but we definitely recommend wearing comfortable clothing that you can move freely in. Keep in mind you will be both paddleboarding and moving through an easy stretch sequence on the board, potentially getting a little wet along the way! For shoes, we HIGHLY RECOMMEND water shoes of some sort. Also, be mindful of anything you would like to wear to protect you from the sun (hat, sunglasses, SPF sun-shirt, etc). If the temperature starting out is below 70, you may want to bring a long sleeve shirt that you can later take off. Check out all the pictures on this website to get some ideas of what others have worn, and please feel free to reach out if you have any questions!

  • What is provided?

We provide inflatable boards, PFD’s, anchors, water resistant backpacks that you can keep a few items in, croakies and leashes if you want them, and will have plenty of extra water on hand. All you have to do is show up! We also have a little gift for you to take away at the end.

  • What should I bring?

We recommend bringing a water bottle, sunscreen, and a hat. You may want to keep a towel in your car for the ride home! We also strongly suggest bringing your sense of adventure and unadulterated joy!

  • Will I fall in?

Chances are good you won’t…but it’s also ok if you do! We recommend you feel comfortable with the idea of falling in. That being said, most people do not, mainly because we welcome all forms of being on the board, and we will only encourage you to stand if you feel ready!

  • Will I get wet on the board?

Even if you don’t fall in, you will probably get a little wet on top of the board. In fact, we hope you do! We believe one of the incredible things about being on the water is to truly experience it…by feeling it, touching it, embracing it!

  • Will we go out if its raining?

We will still venture out in a little rain, however, sessions will be canceled due to inclement weather, including, but not limited to: thunder, lightning, heavy precipitation, extreme temperatures/heat index, or heavy wind. If a session is canceled due to inclement weather, a refund or credit will be given equivalent to the amount of class missed. For more details, please see our cancellation policy.

  • What should I expect during the nature meditation and mindful stretch?

This portion will be 3 parts: a short, seated meditation drawing our attention to nature, followed by an easy stretch sequence matched to our breathing, ending with a lying meditation and final relaxation. This portion of the experience will last about 45 minutes, after we get anchored and set up. If you find any of the stretches or positions uncomfortable or just wish not to do them, that is perfectly fine! We will only encourage you to do what you feel comfortable with. Remember, we welcome all forms of being on the paddleboard!

  • I have a lot of paddle experience and really love to paddle fast! What should I sign up for?

We might recommend contacting us about booking a private experience. We can design your session just how you would like! We can spend more time on the water, see more of the lake, and/or go at the speed your group would like to go.
